BLACKBERRY CURVE 9320 Reviews: NextGen Power From BlackBerry

We recently mentioned the leaked details for the BlackBerry PlayBook 3G+ tablet, and well, it looks like the specs have also leaked for a pair of upcoming Curve devices. The specific models include the BlackBerry Curve 9220 and the Curve 9320. And interestingly enough, it appears as if RIM will be adding a dedicated BBM chat key on the 9320.

Anyway, the details are coming by way of the BGR tech blog who managed to get their hands on some leaked presentation slides. Beginning first with the Curve 9220, the specs for this device break down as follows;
  • 2.44 inch diagonal, qVGA+ 320 x 240 resolution, 164 dpi
  • 512MB eMMc, 512MB RAM, hot swappable microSD card slot with support for cards up to 32GB in size
  • 2.4GHz 802.11 b/g/n
  • Bluetooth, FM Radio
  • Digital Compass (Magnetometer), Accelerometer, Proximity Sensors
  • 2.0 megapixel camera with video recording, 5x digital zoom and fixed focus
  • Quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900)
  • 109 x 60 x 12.7 mm
  • Physical keyboard, Optical trackpad, Physical send/menu/back/end keys
Basically, nothing all that surprising in terms of the Curve 9220. That being said, lets shift over to the Curve 9320 which will share many of the same features found on the Curve 9220. Given that, we will list the features that will be different as compared to the 9220 and those include the following;
  • HSDPA 7.2; HSUPA 5.76, UMTS Tri-band variants (Bands 1,2,5/6 or bands 1,4,8), Quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900)
  • 3.2 megapixel camera with flash, video recording, 4x digital zoom and geotagging
Otherwise, while the Curve 9320 will have the same hardware QWERTY, optical trackpad and send/menu/back/end keys — it looks like it will also have a dedicated button for BBM chat. Based on the details for this one, the Curve 9320 is a device that is “built to chat.”
  • Get chatting instantly at the touch of a button with the dedicated BBM key.
  • Send messages to all your friends for free with BBM 6.
  • Embedded BBM chat within apps makes chatting a breeze. Discuss the latest sports news with your friends while reading about it in a sports news app.
  • Integrated BBM contact list lets you connect with your BBM contacts easily while using other social apps

Samsung has so many variations of their models that sometimes it's hard to say when one model starts and where another begins. Take the Samsung I9103 Galaxy R, positioned somewhere between the Galaxy S II flagship droid and the mid-range Galaxy W.
Not that we're complaining - having more options available is always a good thing and all dual-core droids from Samsung were only top of the line so far (S II and its variations, the Galaxy Nexus and the Galaxy Note phoneblet).
This is where the I9103 Galaxy R steps in in - it offers tangibly better specs than the Galaxy W, while staying a step below the top dogs in specs and price. Here's a summary of what you get with the Galaxy R and some downsides.
